| Details: | SUMMARY: Hexachlorocyclopentadiene detection DETAILS: I spoke to Scott Shulda about a detection of 0.0001 mg/l of Hexachlorocyclopentadiene (CAS Number 77-47-4) at the entry point (EP-A). Scott said he was unaware of any unusual pesticide applications or events that might have introduced this contaminant, so I recommended he take a confirmation sample. I sent him some links to information on-line about the contaminant, which is used in an herbicide called FERTI-LOME PERMA-TRIM and in the manufacture of pesticides. The on-line links were to www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/phs112.html and www.epa.gov/safewater/contminants/basicinformation/hexachlorocyclopentadiene.html. ACTION NEEDED: System resampled on Sept 9th and Sept 24th with no Hexachlorocyclopentadiene detected. No further action needed at this time. System to report initial detection and subsequent non-detect results in CY2009 CCR. | ||
