| Details: | SUMMARY: Called to discuss expectation that system install nitrate treatment DETAILS: I called Matthew Moore and left a message regarding DWPs expectation that Northwest Hazelnut install treatment to reduce nitrate levels. Matthew Moore had previously stated that the system would submit plan review materials by May 31, 2010, but that deadline passed without the submission of plans. More recently, Mr. Moore stated that he expected the suspension of biosolid application by the City of Wilsonville on a nearby property would lower the levels of nitrate in the systems groundwater well, but DWP doesnt have any evidence to believe this will be the case. Due to the acute health risks associated with nitrate over the MCL, DWP believes nitrate treatment should be installed as expected. ACTION NEEDED: DWP will issue an administrative order requiring the installation of a nitrate treatment system or an alternative corrective action that mitigates the nitrate contamination at Northwest Hazelnut. | ||
