| Details: | SUMMARY: Water Rights Clarification DETAILS: System operates a 40 connection system within the Westport Heights development. The system’s water source is groundwater from a single well, which has had issues with iron bacteria and requires pump replacement every 12 to 18 months. Pump replacements cause the system to be down for up to a week. The system would like to drill a secondary well to provide the system with backup water supply during these periods. However, the modifications to the system’s water rights are required in order to drill the second well. Furthermore, the existing water rights limit use to only 15 homes. I researched existing water right and processed information and maps provided by system. I corresponded with Oregon Water Resources and system regarding the most appropriate way to proceed with acquiring water rights. ACTION NEEDED: Completed recommendation report. | ||
