| Details: | SUMMARY: High DBP result and WTP update DETAILS: Rockaway Beach had a high THM result for this first time in over 2 years. Shawn does not know why it would have been so high (0.0973 with MCL of 0.08 ppm). The running annual average is still only 0.0512 ppm. They have fluccuating TOC levels in their source water, so it may have been high. They are already sampling DBPs quarterly. They are building a new membrane plant, due to be completed in October 2010. There has been a delay in construction, but are still generally on target. The new plant will include a polymer chem addition to help remove the TOC. Also, their CT requirement will drop to 0.5 for giardia, so they will be able to lower their chlorine addition which will also help with DBP formation. ACTION NEEDED: none. | ||
