Details: | Background/Problem Identification: The City of Myrtle Creek operates a treatment facility serving a population of 3,490 with 1,490 connections in Myrtle Creek Oregon. The water system contacted the Circuit Rider to schedule a tracer study based on their current system configuration. The water system provides surface water treatment from the source intake on the South Umpqua River. A tracer study was previous scheduled in 2015 and was postponed due to the inability of the system to operate at peak flow for the tracer study. Assistance Provided: 1. 6-23-20 The circuit rider conducted a chlorine tracer study with the system running at peak capacity. The chlorine dosing was increased per the calculated dose parameters by the system operator, but due to unknown issues related to system flow parameters, no contact time was able to be recorded. The testing extended several hours beyond the estimated contact time with no increase in the residual chlorine. Follow-Up Actions Needed: A new Tracer study will be scheduled upon completion of an investigation as to the unexpected results of residual chlorine at the First User location. Technical Reports to be Prepared and Expected Timeframe: None. |
