Details: | SUMMARY: high turbidities and CT DETAILS: Ben called to let us know that as he was doing is August SWTR report, he realized that they had high turbidity (greater than 0.3) in 9 readings. They measure their CFE turbidity at the clearwell effluent. At those times, their IFE readings were all very low (<0.1). They suspect that iron is precipitating out from the chlorine and causing turbidity to show up. I emphasized the need to move the turbidimeter, and they will try to get it done within a couple months. I told them to write an explanation as to the false readings, and to include the highest IFE readings for each day the CFE was high. They will send this to evan. They also had a CT problem on 8/2, but they already talked to evan about this. They also do not currently have a DRC, but have a new operator. I also emphasized the need to review their written operator protocol, communications, etc. ACTION NEEDED: they will send SWTR directly to evan. He will review and forward to DMCE. No violation since not a water quality problem. |
