| Details: | I spoke to Diane. The resort was evacuated on September 6th due to the proximity of the Lionshead fire. High winds on September 7th moved the fire into the Detroit/Idahna area, and on the 11th, the fire moved toward the resort where it is still burning. Firefighters created fire break lines to protect the resort facilities. The area is still closed and inaccessible. Diane will notify me when she is able to return to the resort and evaluate the situation. The resort is closed for the season. On Oct 30th, I received an email from Diane that all the buildings including the water system survived the wildfire, however the surrounding forest is burned. She plans to reopen the resort in June next year. |
