Details: | SUMMARY: Quarterly routine distribution sample positive for E. coli. DETAILS: Spoke to Philip about his recent quarterly distribution sample returning positive for E. coli. He indicated that the sample was from a hose bib that may not have been properly disinfected. He indicated that the distribution line from the well had been broken and was repaired a while ago, The system has UV and chlorine for residual maintenance. Philip stated that he only had two sample bottles available that day. He was instructed to take a triggered source sample as well as a sample from the original test site. He was instructed to disinfect the hose bib with 50 ppm chlorine and flush for at least five minutes. He was instructed to submit the other three samples as soon as possible. I spoke to Chris at Pacific Analytical at 4pm on 08/04/10. She stated that the two test results would not be available until after 11am on 08/05/10. Philip was instructed that five temporary routine samples are to be submitted in September. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for all test results. Issue a "boil wate"r notice if tests return positive for E. Coli. | ||
