Details: | I spoke with Shannon Tice about McNulty Water PUD's most recent Arsenic water sample results. Both of them in SDWIS/Data Online say they're from EP-D for Robinette Well, but one is above the MCL for Arsenic, and the other shows ND - none detected. Shannon says that the first sample with the Arsenic MCL exceedance was taken directly from the ASR - aquifer storage and recovery location, while the second sample with the Arsenic non-detect results was taken from the Reservoir location nearest the Robinette well. So even though they're listed both as EP-D for Robinette Well, they're technically 2 different nearby locations. She says, as she understands it, the sources are blended together in the Reservoir to bring the Arsenic levels down through dilution before going out to the public, and that's why the second sample results were most likely to be non-detect for Arsenic. McNulty's Arsenic situation at that entry point has been an ongoing issue and I have been discussing with State DWS on the next steps of whether Arsenic treatment will need to be required or not. |
