Details: | SUMMARY: Respond tp Alert for Total Coliform DETAILS: Five routine samples positive, discussed with Dave Sanders with the USFS (Guy Cohoon not in) and Nic Fedderhoff. Dave says the storage holding tank was cleaned in July 19,2010. Nic says the system was recently shocked on two occasions, once in mid-June 2010 and again the first week of July. He says the well does not have a shock spout so therefore he shocked the storage holding tank for twenty-four hours at 100 ppm chlorine. He held the chlorinated water in the tank and distribution and drain for twenty-four hours on each occasion. He says there is one section of like that is 1/4 mile in length that runs from the water source to the storage holding tank that is not easily accessible and therefore they have not been able to shock the well. The Tier 2 Notice has been updated and they will fax me a copy. They will continue with corrective action in order to attempt to solve the problem. ACTION NEEDED: Continue corrective action to determine the cause of the total coliform positive samples and correct it. | ||
