Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on low pressure/water outage complaint - Aldridge Ditch DETAILS: Mark and I spoke about recent complaints from Aldridge Ditch Water Co (PWS ID #01013) about a couple of their users who have complained about being out of water. Aldridge Ditch operator needs to bleed air out of pump to restore 20 psi pressure. Mark indicated that the City had received similar low pressure complaints in the Dee area. Problem is limited to transmission line replacement work, when City is filling the line with water. City is keeping the flow rate down, and checking pressure at Dee (Aldridge Ditch) area when filling the line, and is considering a Cla-Val to address the potential of low pressure in this area. I indicated that the City should consult with DWP when pressures drop below 20 psi at connections to their system, and consult DWPs Best Management Practices for Reduced Pressure Events, for service outages within their system. James clarified requirements for Aldridge Ditch to maintain pressure, in recent survey report for purchasing system. ACTION NEEDED: James to forward BMP to Mark. DWP to provide support to both Hood River and Aldridge Ditch to ensure 20 psi is met at all times in the distribution systems. |
