| Details: | SUMMARY: follow up to TC positive routine sample DETAILS: The system had a total coliform positive sample collected on 9/28/10. A site visit was made in response to the positive sample and also a complaint regarding water supply. Currently, the water system is operating the backup well on a manual basis. The primary well has never worked since the new owners have been there and recently learned of its existence. The backup well is located out in a field that currently houses long horned cattle. There is no barrier around the well building. In manually operating the well, there are times that the well is neglected to be turned on, thus the short water supply. There are times the well is not turned off and the storage tank overflows. Drew said the primary well is scheduled to be repaired in the near future with the backup well returning to its emergency status. Three repeat samples were collected plus a source sample. Storage tank disinfection calculations were given to the water system. Additionally, motel is leasing out a majority of its rooms to renters, therefore the population meets the requirements for Transient, Non-Community. ACTION NEEDED: 5 routine samples to be collected in October. DWP to change the classification to transient. | ||
