| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to total coliform routine sample DETAILS: I spoke with Andy at Rockwood on 9/29/10 in the pm as a 9/28/10 routine near Cleveland Reservoir was total coliform positive, e coli absent. Residual for sample was 1.64 mg/L. None of Rockwoods wells have been used in the past two weeks, Andy stated. I indicated that under the Groundwater Rule, only active sources need to be sampled within 24 hours of a routine. Rockwood notified Portland, their wholesaler of routine positive on 9/29/10. Rockwood took 3 repeats on 9/29, all returning coliform absent on 10/1/10, with a good chlorine residual. Rockwood took a sample at well #5 anyway, and it also returned absent on 10/1. I indicated to Greg Lindsey on 10/4 that no violation had occurred under the total coliform or groundwater rules. ACTION NEEDED: Rockwood to update sampling plan to include source monitoring and notification to Portland under the Groundwater Rule. DWP to provide support. | ||
