| Details: | There was a complaint from a household regarding 'dirty water.' It sounds like the problem is caused from either something stirred up from distribution system, or tannins from the rains, since it occurs "all winter," according to the complaint. Due to the coliform sample site near the household (which are always negative), and previous scrutiny of this issue including chlorine residuals, it seems like this is not a health issue. It appears to be an aesthetic issue. And for that it seems one of the few avenues left to resolve this issue is employing a personal water treatment consultant that can install a filter for the entire home. It is an inelegant & potentially costly solution, but it may be the only good option remaining. Ostensibly, there also could be a prohibitively expensive option for the water system to renovate the distribution system in that area; maybe loop it better in that area. But even the success of such a project seems unclear. |
