Details: SUMMARY: Response to loss of pressure DETAILS: Jim called at 8am on 11/19/10 to report that the phone company had accidentally broken a water line in the West part of the distribution (Lambert area) on 11/18. Jim installed a gate valve to isolate the affected area (about 50 users), repaired the pipe, and restored adequate pressure around 4 pm on 11/18. He also flushed the area and restored chlorine residuals also in the pm of 11/18. Special coliform samples taken in the area late on 11/18. I referred Jim to Best Management Practices for service outages, and boil public notice for loss of pressure template. ACTION NEEDED: Jim to post version of boil notice due to loss of pressure to roughly 50 affected users early today (11/19), with a copy to DWP. Boil notice to stay in effect until coliform samples return absent results and DWP consulted. Jim expects to consult with DWP early Monday am. I referred Jim to the BMPs requiring appropriate public notice to affected users right away when pressure is lost.
