Details: | Met with operator this morning. Inspected the chlorinator system. Conduct a chlorine residual test using my digital pocket colorimeter vs. his color wheel. The chlorine reading from my equipment .17 mg/L and from his .6 mg/L. Check his DPD reagent and found it was for total chlorine. Leave several DPD free chlorine reagent packets for him to use during this event. Corrective action plan beginning today includes distribution flushing, increased chlorination not to exceed 4.0 mg/L and well disinfection overnight. Distribution and well samples will be submitted for confirmation of disinfection system tomorrow. Boil water notice will remain in place until this can be confirmed. Operator reports that there has been no loss of pressure, power outages or a possible backflow events. |
