Details: | SUMMARY: Boil notice DETAILS: On Wednesday, December 1st Alan Tuckey called to say that the Cape Mears tank drained in the very early morning (5 am) from a leak. Many parts of the system lost pressure. After fixing the leak, they filled the tank, and pressure was restored to all services by 11:30 am. I advised them to issue a Boil Water notice. I provided the template with the mandatory language. An incorrect email address delayed the delivery of this template. The regular operator and DRC, Alan, left for vacation, so Rob was the main operator. On 12/2, they issued the boil notice in the late morning. They used a combination of email, and door to door delivery. Chlorine residual was restored to 0.7-1 ppm and "some" flushing was done. I said that normally the entire system would be flushed to get out all the potentially bad water. He said they were more concerned with getting the tank full and didnt want to use the water. On Monday, 12/6, the 4 samples that were taken came back negative for coliform, and the boil notice was lifted. We discussed flushing, and Rob said he still hadnt gotten all the areas, so now he will flush all the areas. ACTION NEEDED: none- boil notice lifted. |
