| Details: | SUMMARY: Cracked Spring Box Assistance DETAILS: System owns a community water system west of the City of Hood River and it serves 315 people through 124 connections. The source of the water is a spring which has a concrete, tunnel-type spring box. The infiltration portion of the spring was rehabilitated in the 1990’s, but the spring box has not been repaired. An inspection of the box revealed some degradation, although there have been no structural failures. HBH was contacted by David Stohlhand to provide assistance with cracking that is occurring in the spring box. I researched options and composed preliminary report for rehabilitation and/or replacement of existing spring box. Options include complete replacement of the spring box, reinforcement of the spring box, and application of sealant to the cracks inside of the spring box.
