Details: | SUMMARY: CT Tracer Study DETAILS: The School has a modular slow sand filter water treatment plant that provides water to the school as well as 11 connections that serve a total of 172 people. The source for the school’s water is an infiltration well located on the bank of Beneky Creek. Sodium Hypochlorite is added for disinfection after the sand filters. The contact time is achieved in a 15,000 gallon tank that also doubles as a clear well. HBH was contacted by Joe Donaldson to provide assistance with a contact tracer study to determine the amount of contact time in the system before first user. I developed methodology for the completion of the contact tracer study and visited the school to perform the study and completed preliminary report of tracer study results. Investigated methods to increase contact time as it was determined that the required time is not met in all circumstances. ACTION NEEDED: Complete report and assist school with recommendations for increasing contact time. |
