Details: SUMMARY: Cracked Spring Box Investigation DETAILS: System owns and operates a community system west of the City of Hood River. The water system serves 315 people through 124 connections. The source of the water is a spring which has a concrete, tunnel type spring box. The infiltration portion of the spring was rehabilitated in the 1990’s, but the spring box has not been repaired. An inspection of the box revealed some degradation, although there have been no structural failures. HBH was contacted by David Stohlhand to provide assistance with cracking that is occurring in the spring box. Researched options for rehabilitation and/or replacement of existing spring box. Options included complete replacement of the spring box, reinforcement of the spring box and application of sealant to the cracks inside the spring box. I completed recommendation report. ACTION NEEDED: Provide assistance as requested.
