| Details: | SUMMARY: Discussed enforcement deadlines DETAILS: Dee called to notify me that the board at Valley Vista is working to resolve the arsenic contamination. They have had some work done, like cleaning and re-flooring the well house to be ready for installation of the arsenic treatment system. Dee said they are working with a grant writer to obtain funding for the treatment system and other improvements. I told Dee that Dan Cady has been unresponsive to Mike at Jackson County, and we have never received a copy of the public notice. I stated that we need a copy of the notice previously issued to all the water users in the improvement district. She said shell have to talk to Dan, and said she had copies of all the letters, but apparently cant send one to me. It became cear that the system will be unable to comply with the construction deadlines specified in the Notice of Violation issed in September 2010. I also told her that they should send a letter requesting additional time for installation of the arsenic treatment if they will be unable to meet the March deadline to have the treatment installed and working properly. ACTION NEEDED: Await copies of the public notice and an extension request. Evaluate extension request and either grant or deny the request. If no documents or communications are received by December 31, DWP will pursue additional enforcement action. | ||
