| Details: | SUMMARY: Nitrate sample DETAILS: Garrett Klever from The Drinking Water Program wrote: "We received a nitrate sample and one part indicates this was taken from the entry point and the other indicates this was taken from just one of their wells. Can you confirm if this is a well or entry point sample? Also, do they still have two wells contributing to one entry point? Following a conversation with Sheldon Price Hood River county Health Department responded. I contacted the operator. He said that the sample taken is only representative of well #1. He collected a raw water sample rather than one from the Entry point. Do they need to collect another sample? Water comes from 2 wells that are located qwithin 50 feet of one another. Bothwell pumps do not typically run at the same time meaning that there is always a pulse from one well then the other. I instructed operator to manually turn on both pumps and collect a representative sample from the entry point in the future. It sas determined the water system operator has been replaced temporarily. An updated info form is attached. ACTION NEEDED: Determine whether an additional nitrate sample is required. | ||
