Details: SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Miguel called to inform me of positive sample and of leaky fitting/pipe in the well vault. Jim Granger 541-821-1266 is on site and repaired leak and installed sample tap while he was there. Jim and I discussed shock chlorination and he will wait until the resaurant is closed tonight and shock the distribution system. Tomorrow morning the system will be purged of chlorine before the restaurant opens. Repeat samples will be collected after the system is purged of chlorine ina day or two. Jim says system pressure did not drop below 25 psi at any time. 11/10/10 Miguel called to ask if repeat samples should be collected today he wasnt at the restaurant and didnt know if the chlorine level was at zero. I suggested that he instruct his staff to turn on the faucets and purge the system and he said he would call Jim to check the chlorine level tomorrow and if at zero he would collect samples tomorrow. 11/12/10 Jim called that the well pump quit yesterday. He had to replace the electrical wire to the pump and chlorinate the well. He pumped a good deal of it to waste and will check the chlorine residual today. If at zero repeat samples will be collected. If not, it will be flushed and samples collected on Monday. 11/12/10 Jim called and said there is still some chlorine residual and that repeat samples will be collected on Monday. 11/15/10 Miguel called to check on where the repeat samples need to be collected from. 11/15/10 Repeat and triggered samples were collected and all tested negative. ACTION NEEDED: Five temporary routines need to be collected in December.
