Details: | SUMMARY: Sampling requirements for this month DETAILS: The Oregon House system is in the process of switching from surface water to a groundwater-only source (Seagull Well). Dave submitted a Plan Review packet awhile ago, and yesterday he inquired about its status, and when he could make the switch. I transferred the call to Jay MacPherson, who said that since Dave had taken all the required well tests, he could go ahead and make the switch without waiting for a Plan Review response letter. Dave called again today to ask if he needed to submit a monthly coliform distribution sample for this month (January), since he has been on surface water for a good part of January, or whether he can just shift to the quarterly schedule of distribution samples as required for the GW source. He plans to make the switch to groundwater today. Since he has already missed his labs pick-up day for his area this month, I suggested it was probably not worth the hours of driving on his part to drive a routine sample to the lab to represent half a month, especially in view of his long history of monthly sampling results. He says he still may try to submit the sample in January somehow. The well tests that were submitted with the plan review packet are not yet displayed in our database results. For good measure, he said he would contact Analytical Labs and ask them to submit those sample results through the regular channels to the Portland DWP office. I cautioned him to add an explanation if those results were marked as "special" samples, so it is clear to the data entry staff that they are source water samples from the well, taken as required before the well became operational. ACTION NEEDED: None needed, other than the regular Plan Review process. |
