| Details: | SUMMARY: User report of rotten egg smell in water DETAILS: Ms Whitaker called to report that there have been episodes where their water smells like rotten eggs. The last episode occurred about one week ago. I explained to her that the smell is likely from hydrogen sulfide in the water and does not present a hazard to public health - although is a nuisance contaminant. I suspect that given the current operational status at the Rose Lodge WC water systems, the chlorination system is operating inconsistently. This could explain episodes as described. I also told Ms Whitaker that later today the PUC would be considering the appointment of a interim operator for the water system, and this would likely lead to more diligent operations. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. | ||
