| Details: | SUMMARY: Turbidity has been >1 NTU frequently DETAILS: Asked Klaas why Surface Water Treatment Rule monthly report form has been checking 95% of turbidity readings <1 NTU when turbidity has been > 1 NTU frequently. He did not have a clear answer and asked what he could do to lower the value. We discussed the short-term solutions of cleaning the finished water tank, adding the already in-place rapid sand filter, and replacing the cartridge in the cartridge filter. In the long-term, the system needs additional slow sand capacity or other approved filtration. Relayed that slow sand filters can be open to the sky. ACTION NEEDED: Check February reporting form for turbidity values. | ||
