| Details: | SUMMARY: IDSE Report for Stage 2 DETAILS: The City owns and operates a community water system with 708 connections serving a population of 1,997. Water is supplied by a wellfield with four permanent and three seasonal wells, classified as groundwater. The system chlorinates for residual maintenance. Under the Stage 2 Disinfection Byproducts Rule (DBPR), the Initial Distribution System Evaluation (IDSE) Report was due on July 1, 2010. HBH contacted Terry Harris, water system operator, to discuss the requirements and learned that the quarterly monitoring specified in the Standard Monitoring Plan has not yet been completed. I contacted Michelle Byrd at DWP to review Vale’s status. Michelle advised that the quarterly monitoring must be completed, and another Stage 1 compliance monitoring round must be done next July before the IDSE can be completed. A letter with this information was sent to the City. ACTION NEEDED: The City of Vale must continue to monitor DBPs as specified in the letter. When that monitoring has been completed, I will contact the City and offer further assistance to complete the IDSE Report. | ||
