Details: | SUMMARY: Chlorine residual appeared to be recorded as 78.8 mg/L on a routine sample DETAILS: Spoke to Darren at Sand Dunes Frontier. He explained that Delta Environmental takes all their tests, so would have recorded that high number. Meanwhile, I asked Darren to run the tap to see if he smelled chlorine, and if so, try to adjust the chemical feeder. And to use the chlorine test kit. He said he would contact the former system operator Andy over the weekend to come help him out (today was just the first day of their PWS season). In the near term, possible exposure to the public will be very low, since they only have one public restroom open so far. I contacted Delta Labs and Kevin Hunt said the handwriting on the form was meant to indicate > 8.8, rather than 78.8, which is still too high. Kevin will alert Randy Reitz that he needs to go help the new person Darren get a handle on the chlorination system soon. ACTION NEEDED: Talk to Darren on Monday to see if he and Andy made progress this weekend at lowering the chlorine residual. Then check on public notice requirements. | ||
