Details: | Eric notified OHA Friday 10/9 that they were turning off the well to prevent any contaminants or high turbidity from entering into the filters and water system, and therefore would not be collecting a cyanotoxins sample on Monday 10/12. I let Eric know that it is fine not to sample on the 12th if the well is not in use and serving water to customers. I requested that if the well is turned back on later the week of the 12th to pull a sample and send it in. If it is Friday the 16th before the well is turned on, pull the sample friday, freeze, and send Monday the 19th. Under this scenario, their last sample for the season would still be 10/26. If the well is not turned on again until the week of the 19th, pull the sample during that week and then they are done for the season and don’t have to sample for cyanotoxins again the week of the 26th. By doing it this way, it minimizes the time between samples as much as possible, and adheres as closely as possible to the every-two-week requirement. Update 10/23/20: a sample was collected 10/14, so next and last sample for the season will be 10/26. |
