| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water Notice - Acute MCL Violation of TCR DETAILS: Brian called. One routine coliform sample collected 5/17 tested TC+ EC+ and the second tested TC+, so there is an acute MCL violation. A source sample collected the same day from the well #1 currently in use tested TC absent. Suspect either recent high water in Willow Creek infiltrated into the transmission line between the well and town, or else recent rains flushed fecal contamination into reservoir #2 hatch. Chlorine levels in distribution are measured below 0.03 mg/l - too low to be effective. Chlorine dosage will be increased, the reservoirs batch chlorinated and the system flushed to draw more chlorinated water into the distribution system. Follow up samples will be collected tomorrow. ACTION NEEDED: PWS to distribute public notice, send copy to DWP, increase chlorine residual, flush distribution system, collect follow up samples. | ||
