| Details: | SUMMARY: High TTHM levels DETAILS: Rockaway Beach has exceeded the Running annual average for several quarters now. Their membrane plant is up and running, so we now know that it is not removing the TOC. Ken said that they have installed a sand pre-filter, but that the coagulant addition is not yet hooked up. They are meeting with the engineer this week and will try to have it installed this week. They will be using Poly Aluminum chloride, then a rapid sand filter. There is no floc basin. They have found that color is a good indicator of TOC removal. They purchased a benchtop TOC meter so they can do unofficial tests. ACTION NEEDED: double check that plans address the chem addition (yes) and pre-filter (?). Review unofficial results once equipment is installed. A public notice was done recently. | ||
