Details: | SUMMARY: Lead & Copper Rule Technical Assistance DETAILS: System has exceeded 90th %ile lead action level in 6/10 & 1/11 samples. DWP requested HBH for assistance. June 2010 level was 0.327 mgl and January 2011 was 0.112 mgl. System uses a blended phosphate for corrosion control treatment that was installed in mid 1990s. AquaMag was used for many years and switched out to Carus 8100 in 8/10 after 6/10 violations. I met with Scott Kruger on 4/4/11 to present a non chemical strategy to comply with the LCR. The most recent round of “special” samples collected on March 11, 2011 indicate an improvement over the samples collected in January. The sample collected at the room 5 faucet still exceeded the MCL for Lead, but not as high as previously seen. The strategy proposed to Scott was to inventory and identify all faucets at the school and determine which had been sampled previously and the results. Any faucet not tested would have for lead with MSF/ANSI STD 61 – Annex G Ultra low lead faucets. Routine flushing will be conducted by Waldorf School facility/personnel on a schedule determined by the Corvallis SD. ACTION NEEDED: Complete the compliance strategy report approved by Scott Kruger and present to the School District. |
