| Details: | SUMMARY: Ecoli positive alert DETAILS: Visited the system again today to review the on going situation and provide further instructions to the system. Dan Hough of the state was a participant in todays visit. Essentially reviewed with system that they are using surface water, and not ground water (and that it has been incorrectly labeled by the state as ground water for all these years) The system can voluntarily state they have surface water or it can go to an MPA analyses which will determine for sure whether or not it is in fact surface water. Also spent same time reviewing with the system what they would need to do water treatment rules and regulation. Additionally, it was discussed as a second option to use the well near the barn, in spite of the high levels of arsenic and antimony because the system is a transient system, hence it would if it would be acceptable to use the well and turn off the current system. It was recommended that if the system goes with this option, they may want to look at installing some treatment for arsenic. ACTION NEEDED: On going evaluation, well head evaluation, perhaps install additional surface water treatment measures or switch over to the ground water well system. | ||
