Details:	11.03.20 - Resend email to DWS Compliance Office requesting the deactivation of this water system. 09.23.20 - The survey scheduled at this water system was postponed for next year. The Butler Bar CG was indicated as “active” in the state database as of May 22 this year. The intent of the USFS was to open the system to the public but due to a variety of reason this was never done. It is a simple handpump with no distribution. The operator indicated in an email sent on 09.25.20 that the handle was never installed so no water has been provided to the public this season. The current plan is to keep it closed for the winter and open it up next May with normal startup and testing procedure. The USFS operator would be available to assist with the sanitary survey in 2021. The operator was advised to let me know when the well is reactivated. Also, before the well can provide drinking water to the public, the operator should consider following the recommendations provided in the startup checklist for seasonal systems. Collecting at least one “special” coliform sample before people can use the water is also advisable. A request was sent to update the water system status to "closed" in SDWIS.
