Details: | Scott, I wanted to reach out to touch base about the drinking water sampling requirements at Sportsman's Park. I will list what samples are needed in 2020 below. There are new sampling requirements that we informed you about at the end of last year; I've also attached that letter for your review. Please let me know if you have any questions about them. An arsenic sample is due in 2020. This is required to be taken at the entry point for the wells every year. A nitrate sample is due in 2020. This is the same as arsenic. 2 source assessment samples for coliform need to be taken in 2020. One for each well before chlorination (raw water). 2 dual DBP samples were required to be taken in the summer because of the disinfection installation. This is now late. As the weather is now turned cold, you shall need to take these next summer and will receive a violation for late reporting. 10 lead and copper samples were needing to be taken also because of the disinfection. These were meant to be taken in two batches, 5 in the beginning of the year and 5 in the second half of the year. The first half was missed, so please turn in 10 samples before the end of the year. I also have these additional suggestions: Continue to measure free chlorine twice a week and keep the logs for your records. The samples of chlorine reported monthly to the state are all taken at the same location. Use your coliform sampling plan to rotate between 3-4 locations for a larger representation of coliform. |
