| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Left phone message week of 9-19 regarding presence of coliform in results and resampling requirements. On 9-26 Mr. Korner called to say he had taken repeat sample and found presence of coliform in some results, even after running chlorine from the well through the distribution system. He discussed consideration to put a chlorinator on line to address coliform issue (and also improve the iron removal system) Doing this would make documentation of coliform residuals at the first user necessary as well as checks elsewhere in the distribution system at least twice a week. Several years ago sodium hypochlorite was being used as evidenced by an unused chlorinator in the treatment room. Mr. Korner was aware that 5 temporary routine samples were due in October and would look to take action to avoid the costs of further resampleing and more important assure the safety of the water. ACTION NEEDED: 5 temporary routine sample due in October. Public notice will be required if repeat samples are confirmed showing presence of coliforms | ||
