Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up discussion to WSS DETAILS: Martin called to give status report on preparing a corrective action plan per survey - due Nov 15th. He is working to better seal up the 5 cisterns to address to make watertight - both looking to seal up metal hatches and concrete sidewalls. I indicated I would be willing to evaluate any options he is considering. He then updated me that he still does not have a calibrated hand held turbidimeter. He is ordering updated standards for one loaned to him. System is talking to engineer about on-line NTU capability after filter prior to storage. I emphasized that 4-hour compliance readings need to be of filter effluent and should only be recorded when plant is running. Write off if plant is off and do not carry values over from one time to other times of the day when no measurement. Martin has taken one sample to Vernonia to measure in calibrated meter, and it correlated well with his meter. I discussed possible public notice for NTU treatment technique if cannot resolve soon. ACTION NEEDED: Martin to calibrate hand held meter ASAP and report only when plant is filtering water to the clearwell. Will write plant off if not running at times of NTU measurement. DWP to coordinate with DRC-Jeff Burch, to verify accurate compliance turbidity readings. DWP to review October SWTR monthly report to determine next steps. |
