| Details: | DWS received City of Gates' Surface Water reports showing that disinfection residual was not maintained on September 21st 2020. DWS reached out to the system to get more information and to determine if a tier 2 public notice was required if the disinfection residual was not maintained for more than 4 hours. Regulator left a message on the operator cell phone and with City Hall. City Hall let me know that the operator may be out of the office for an emergency. UPDATE 11/6/2020 1530: Operator notified me that the disinfection residual was not met for about 4 hours, I let him know that if disinfection residual was not met for more than 4 hours then a Tier 2 public notice is required notifying customers that disinfection was not met for that time period. Update 11/24/2020: Operator sent water quality data from SCADA system that showed disinfection residual was below 0.2 mg/l for 2.5 hours. Forwarded data to compliance for review and will provide information to water system operator. |
