| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to OERS Spill 2012-0193 DETAILS: Don updated me at noon on 1/23, that per OERS #2012-0193, the City has been sent a blend of raw sewage and treated wastewater through their outfall to Cow Creek at Milepost 41. Since 1/19, approximately 997,000 gallons of blended sewage and treated wastewater has been discharged through the Citys outfall. Approximately 1.94 M Gal of treated wastewater has been discharged during that time. Incident due to heavy infiltration and inflow with the heavy rains. Don notified Lawson Acres, Riddle, Tri-Cities, Myrtle Creek, Rivers West and Clarks Branch water systems of the incident, which is ongoing at variable flow rates. City has taken raw E. coli count samples 1/4 mile upstream from outfall near intake of surface water plant, and found 60 E. coli per 100 mL. Don noted a chlorine residual of 1.0 milligrams per liter at the entry point from the surface water plant on 1/23. Don indicated City is coordinating with DEQ and Douglas County Health on the blended overflow currently. ACTION NEEDED: I indicated DWP will consult with Emergency Spill maps to identify any potentially impacted systems with surface water intakes downstream of Glendale. | ||
