| Details: | SUMMARY: Water quality complaint DETAILS: Resident called to complain about the water quality. He said the sediment is so bad sometimes that the line to his trailer gets plugged and that a 2-3" layer of sediment settles in a glass. He wanted to know how they could be allowed to continue serving "bad water". I checked the database and system is required to doing quarterly coliform testing and annual nitrate-- testing is being done on-time and reported results are good. Spoke to the county and heard they get a lot of complaints about the system due to high iron in the water which is not a health concern. System flushes often in an effort to combat the problem but it still occurs. ACTION NEEDED: Well is not approved for use-- does not meet WRD or DWP standards for construction (seal inadequate). State required repair of the well seal in Feb 2011 in order for system to continue using well-- has not heard back as of Feb 2012. County may pursue enforcement throught the tourist facility license.
