| Details: | SUMMARY: Nitrate result at 10.8 DETAILS: I contacted Ken and let him know the results for the nitrate sample taken on the 26th was over the MCL and that he will need a tier 1 public notice. He said he would have the service company out to work on the nitrate removal system. I let him know I would take a public notice template out to the facility on this date. Upon arrival to the facility Ken let me know the service company had been out and found that a valve was open and allowing some water to bypass the media in the ion exchange unit. The valve was closed to force all of the water through the media. He also indicated that a salt bridge had formed in the brine tank that would prevent a proper brine feed to recharge the media. He indicated that a resample was scheduled on 2/2/12. I obtained a completed public notice from the operator on this date. I also let Ken know they must sample quarterly for a year. He said he will arrange this with the lab. ACTION NEEDED: Forward public notice to the state. Monitor follow up sampling and respond if necessary | ||
