Details: | SUMMARY: Confirmation that WSS deficiencies were corrected DETAILS: Received email from Bill detailing how COWA has addressed the two deficiencies noted in the WSS conducted on 11/12/10. The first deficiency was inadequate pressure in some service connections. This deficiency was corrected by the installation of a small booster station (7/8/11). The second deficiency was an apparent inability to maintain chlorine residual within the distribution system. The system purchased pre-chlorinated water from the City of Gaston. Following the WSS, and meeting with DWP, the COWA submitted chlorine residual monitoring from 2009, 2010 and 2011. The data demonstrate that the chlorine residual remains detectable year round. Although at times in the past, the system added supplemental chlorine to their storage tank, this practice has been discontinued. In the future, in the event that chlorine residual cannot be maintained - a chlorine injection system, capable of injecting chlorine proportional to flow, would be required. At this time, DWP concurs that the two deficiencies have been addressed. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. |
