Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Swisshome Village has been required to complete a tracer study. They had previously made modifications to their clear well to allow for a minimum contact time for CT by installing a riser inside the clear well tank. The tracer study had previously been postponed until the modifications were made. Recent communications with the WD operator led us to believe they were ready for the tracer study. Assistance Provided: The operator Matt Grassauer informed the Circuit Rider that although he had previously installed the riser, he had also removed the riser and it was currently not installed. After further discussion, he then asked that we look at doing calculations to explore the option of only using the contact time in the pipe to meet their requirements. The Circuit Rider notified Matt, after running calculations based on the current configuration, that there was not sufficient time to use the pipe plug flow for the disinfection requirement. He then discussed with the CR alternative plans to install a poly tank as an option for contact time or improve filtration to lower his disinfection requirement. He said he would speak with OHA and formulate a plan to address the tracer study and would contact the Circuit Rider at a later date. This task will be closed. |
