Details: | SUMMARY: One of four repet samples positive coliform DETAILS: Spoke to Mark and Chris about the positive repeat sample. They stated they were replacing the bathroom faucet where the positive result came from because it was a swivel type faucet. They requested assistance about the proper amount of chlorine to add to the well as they wanted to conduct a shock chlorination. I assisted them with that using the static water level from when the well log that was drilled in the 1980s. They did not have a more current static level reading. We discussed the need to submit a 30 day notice either resolved or unresolved because the positive sample created an MCL violation. They stated they were going to shock chlorinate and then draw a special sample. I instructed them to insure the chlorine residual was tested and found to be 0 ppm before testing. Mark indicated they want to connect the system to the well field serving the Farm Home as the system is already chlorinated and then use the existing well at North Point as an emergency back up. I instructed them to contact Jay MacPherson in the Springfield office to discuss plan review of that project. I called jay to give him a heads up to expect their call. We also discussed the need to re list the current well as emergency on the Farm Home system and deactivate the North Point system when the project was completed. We also discussed the need to submit 5 temporary routine distribution samples in March. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results of March samples and work with the system as they move forward with connecting North Point to the Farm Home well field. | ||
