| Details: | SUMMARY: Discussed interim measures at Galice Resort DETAILS: David called to explain that the water system serving Galice Resort will need substantial improvements before a permanent treatment system can be installed that meets treatment requirements. He stated that a temporary treatment system could be installed, but also asked if the Resort could be allowed to open with no potable water. I stated that this is a question that would have to be answered by the Josephine County Health Department. I forwarded this question to Josephine County. The ability to operate a restaurant without potable water would likely be problematic. David and I also discussed the requirement for an emergency response plan. I also informed David that the owner of the Resort was made aware of all of these requirements and deficiencies in early 2011, but has waited for over a year with no apparent action. ACTION NEEDED: Provide guidance on how the Resort can open without a permanent water treatment system or ensure that the Resort remains closed until this situation is resolved. | ||
