Details: | SUMMARY: Total coliform on temporary routines DETAILS: Dan called to discuss the detections and his plan of action. The system has unresolved total coliform detections and the well and distribution have been disinfected and flushed several times. The system status was recently updated to reflect the current use , no longer an elementary school, now a small alternative school with a total student and staff count at 19. The source for the water is a well drilled in 1957 to a depth of 48 ft. construction is inadequate as no casing seal was placed on the well. The well draws water from a shallow, unconfined aquifer consisting of sand and gravel. Dan said they were going to provide bottled drinking water onsite for the students/staff and that he was going to disinfect and flush the system again this weekend. I reminded Dan again of the requirement for repeat and temporary routine samples and public notice. I mentioned they need to make plans to repair or replace the well and if the site becomes a NTNC system again they may be required to do so if the total coliform detections remain unresolved. ACTION NEEDED: Follow up on system status, public notice and routine test results. | ||
