Details: SUMMARY: Alternatives to achieve sufficient treatment credit DETAILS: Would UV addition provide sufficient treatment credit? Verified UV devices can provide at least 3.5-log treatment. Conceivably UV could be added after the existing membrane filter to meet the treatment credit required and provide multiple barriers. If the membrane filter did not have a daily direct integrity test, it would not receive treatment credit. However, with a construction waiver it might provide the necessary multiple barrier component while UV provides the needed 3.0-log treatment credit against Cryptosporidium and Giardia. (Used equipment requires explicity approval from the department.) ACTION NEEDED: none
