| Details: | SUMMARY: Total Coliform MCL for April 2012 DETAILS: Peter Farrelly responded to a phone duty inquiry regarding two total coliform positive routine samples taken April 24th from the House 2 hose bib and the House 3 hose bib. Peter advised them that they needed to, in the short-term, take one Triggered coliform sample at the wellhead, asap, distribute a Tier 2 public notice for exceeding the MCL for TC, and take 5 Temporary Routine coliform samples in May. Shock chlorinating the water system before taking the Temporary Routine samples is allowed. For the Long-term, they need to consider options to prevent the costly sampling and re-sampling that may be endemic in the system or otherwise identify and resolve the cause of the total coliforms. ACTION NEEDED: System to issue Tier 2 public notice, complete temporary routine sampling in May 2012 (5 samples), and investigate the cause of the coliform positive samples. | ||
