Details: | SUMMARY: 5 Temporary Routine samples in May 2012 were absent of coliform bacteria DETAILS: Mike Hazen e-mailed Peter Farrelly that they completed the 5 temporary routine samples in May 2012 and all were absent of coliform bacteria. They did not end up shock chlorinating the system. This completes their sampling requirements for the second quarter of 2012. Tom Pattee (DWP geologist) replied on June 5, 2012 that following a review of their records, the well construction was deemed adequate, the aquifer was not considered highly sensitive, and there have not been any total coliform positive results in the well, therefore, at this point, there is no concern that the well is Groundwater Under the Direct Influence of Surface Water. The data appears to point to a problem in the distribution system. Triggered source sampling and repeat sampling is still applicable. ACTION NEEDED: System to investigate distribution system for possible cause of total coliform bacteria. |
