Details: | SUMMARY: Complaints from users DETAILS: County received multiple phone calls over the weekend regarding water quality/loss of pressure. Field visit made and operator stated well pump went out on 4/1 with the resultant loss of pressure. Operator was finishing public notice to be posted at resultant loss of pressure. Operator was finishing public notice to be posted at restrooms and also posted on mobile homes/rvs in park. Environmental Health Specialist (EHS) took special coliform sample at womens restroom sink and measured free chlorine residual of 3.4mg/L with Hach test kit. After discussion with operator Jody and former owner Doug LaSalle, several points were noted. SRC-AA has not been in use recently and was only online from Thursday 3/2912 to 4/1/12 at which point the pump pressure switch went out. SRC-AB has been online for an unspecified amount of time. Told by Doug that until 3/3112 SRC-AB was being augmented by hidden valve between this source and surface water from a creek. This valve was disabled on 3/31/12, SRC-AB was being augmented by hidden valve between this source and surface water from a creek. This valve was disabled 3/31/12. Discussed importance of park owner or representative letting water system operator know which source is in fact in operation of service to users. Coliform sample on 3/28/12 was labeled from SRC-AA which wasnt online until 3/29/12/ Water in service on day of field visit is from SRC-AB. ACTION NEEDED: none |
